Last week, following the holidays, I spent four days at a resort in Cancun. While I expected to have a very relaxing few days lounging by the ocean, I found myself in a constant struggle with the other patrons to obtain a beach chair. You’d think at a resort that size there’d be enough room for everyone to lounge. But, the fight for poolside property proved to be a cut throat business. If you weren’t staking a claim by 8am, you were doomed for the day. Even if you were there bright and early, dare leave your space unattended for 10 minutes to take a dip in the pool and you’d surely lose your spot to the vultures circling the area searching for prime real estate. If only I had this towel! Nobody would be able to politely say “oh this is your spot? I thought it was open.” Next year.
