This product makes me think of the movie 27 Dresses. If you’ve never seen it, you must have been living under a rock for the entirety of 2008 because it was on repeat on just about every cable station for basically the entire year. There’s one scene in the movie where the bride tells Katherine Heigl that the repulsive bridesmaid’s dress she selected is great because you can just shorten it and wear it again. I’ve been in a few weddings and I can say with a lot of confidence that those dresses will never been worn again. No level of alteration will ever make that shiny satin finish appropriate for any occasion other than holding the bride’s dress while she uses the bathroom. At the same time, you never want to just throw away a dress that cost you upwards of two hundred dollars! It’s a dilemma that has faced woman-kind since the invention of the bridesmaid. Uncommon Goods has come up with a pretty good solution to this problem. Send in your old bridesmaid’s dresses, prom dresses, and any other gowns gathering dust in the back of your closet and they will make it into a custom quilt. This way you can still hold on to the memories of those occasions without having to reincarnate a look that was never really flattering to begin with!
